چکیده

Cryptosystem designers frequently assume that secrets will be manipulated in closed, reliable computing environments. Unfortunately, actual microchips leak information about the operations they process. Cryptosystems often take slightly different amounts of time to process different inputs and also internal signals. By carefully measuring the amount of time required to perform private key operations, attackers may be able to discover secret exponents or keys to break the cryptosystem [2, 4]. A technique to hide the time differences from attackers using random delays is shown in this report.

Improving Tor security against timing and traffic analysis attacks with fair randomization

The Tor network is probably one of the most popular online anonymity systems in the world. It has been built based on the volunteer relays from all around the world. It has a strong scientific basis which is structured very well to work in low latency mode that makes it suitable for tasks such as web browsing. Despite the advantages, the low latency also makes Tor insecure against timing and tr...

Securing AODV routing protocol against the black hole attack using Firefly algorithm

Mobile ad hoc networks are networks composed of wireless devices to create a network with the ability for self-organization. These networks are designed as a new generation of computer networks to satisfy some specific requirements and with features different from wired networks. These networks have no fixed communication infrastructure and for communication with other nodes the intermediate no...

Securing Cluster-heads in Wireless Sensor Networks by a Hybrid Intrusion Detection System Based on Data Mining

Cluster-based Wireless Sensor Network (CWSN) is a kind of WSNs that because of avoiding long distance communications, preserve the energy of nodes and so is attractive for related applications. The criticality of most applications of WSNs and also their unattended nature, makes sensor nodes often susceptible to many types of attacks. Based on this fact, it is clear that cluster heads (CHs) are ...

A Study on Side Channel Cryptanalysis in Elliptic Curve Cryptosystems

Mobile devices such as smartcards are penetrating in our daily life in order for us to be comfortable. When cryptographic schemes are implemented on computers such as smartcards, side channel attacks are particular menaces to them. Since electric power is provided from the outside of them, the attacker can observe the power consumption while they perform cryptographic operations. In side channe...

Securing RSA algorithm against timing attack

Security plays an important role in many embedded systems. All security based algorithms are implemented in hardware or software, and on physical devices which interact with the systems and influenced by their environments. The attacker extracts, investigate and monitor these physical interactions and extracts side channel information which is used in cryptanalysis. This type of cryptanalysis i...
